A bicolor type or transparent quartz that is the result of amethyst and citrine both being present in the same stone. It is both purple and yellow or green-blue with amber undertones. Ametrine is very affordable, and costs about $5-$30 per carat for gems less than 5 carats and $20-$70 per carat for gems weighing 5 to 20 carats.
