This is a little-seen type of garnet that is unique for its orange color. It has several varieties of undertones that may color the stone- yellow, pink and red deepen the stone to make it even more beautifully. The prized coloring of this stone is the orange gem with red undertones and the pink ones. Found in East Africa , the price range for this gem should be about $50-$300 per carat for anything smaller than 5 carats and about $150-$700 per carat for 5-10 carat weights.
