An inexpensive gem that is usually brown, dark gold and amber in color. There is a rarely-seen type of tiger's-eye that has blue shades. This gem is often mistaken for a chrysoberyl cat's-eye, though they differ hugely in quality, price and availability. Tiger's-eye is normally much darker and the eye effect is less marked.
