The parts of a faceted stone

Table The largest facet of the stone - its flat top surface, also called the ‘face'.
Crown The uppermost part of the stone, reaching from table to the middle-line of the stone.
Girdle The equatorial line of the stone, dividing the bottom and top parts.
Pavilion The bottom part of the stone, from girdle down.
Culet The lowest tip of the stone, normally filed into a point.
